He wants to improve network visibility so all devices appear on the router. The setup currently only shows directly connected items, hiding others like office PCs and the printer. The server is also missing from the list. Changing router settings might help, but it depends on how the device is configured. A different approach could be needed if the issue persists.

I can help outline the network setup and clarify your questions. Would you like me to create a diagram description or suggest tools for visualizing it? Also, confirm whether you're using WAN or LAN ports and what devices are connected to the WAN port. Are the systems on the same subnet, and can they communicate with each other?

Not working at the office anymore; tomorrow it will be. The main internet relied on the WAN connection, while the other four were busy with PCs. If this is the problem, can I disconnect the printer and connect it wirelessly? EDIT: I used an Asus RT-N12 D1 router, nothing special.

That's how a router functions. Using NAT, you'll be on a separate network segment than the modem's, which means you can't directly see the connected devices. You can still send data if needed. Why did everyone install a router, and what were your intentions?

Connecting the main Ethernet port to one of the other four standard ports should work fine. The last question seems unclear—clarify if you're asking about the router's purpose or how to manage network access.

If you need Wi-Fi, you should get a Wi-Fi AP, not a router. However, avoid using the want port and enabling the DHCP server, and you’ll end up with just a Wi-Fi AP.

I just found it in the drawer and used it instead of buying something new since I already had one.

Just avoid the wan/internet port and switch off dhcp, that should work.
