I attempted it, but it didn’t trigger the error. Instead, a black screen appeared, which I’ve learned from past forum experiences suggests could be linked to being logged in on the device. What are your thoughts?

The issue remains consistent—black screen appears even when logged in, though the guide resolved the error.

Use SSH to view the .xsessions file with a command like cat ~/.xsession. It seems you're attempting to use gnome-session on Ubuntu 2d. XFCE is often recommended for XRDP. You can install XFCE and switch to it by running the provided sudo apt-get commands. After that, try connecting again.
