I’m planning to connect my PC at home remotely during vacation using moonlight and my laptop. Initially, I thought about using Wake on LAN over the internet, but it only worked when on the same local network. Now I have a Wemo smart plug that controls my PC’s power. It turns on automatically when it detects wall power, which is the main problem. When the PC shuts down completely, I can’t access the internet until it’s unlocked and passes the lock screen. Turning it off normally still gets me online quickly, even before unlocking. I’ve checked my network card settings on the motherboard, but nothing in BIOS seems to help. I need the PC to stay connected to my network while in the lock screen to enable remote access. Anyone know how to fix this? (I’m using Ethernet and it’s listed in Device Manager as “Intel® ethernet connection (2) i219-v #2”)

Hybrid sleep combines elements of Sleep and Hibernate. It keeps your active tasks and open documents available in both RAM and storage. Your device still needs a steady power source during sleep. If there’s a power cut, data stored in RAM can be recovered from the HDD. This setting acts as a safer pause with a backup option. It’s activated by default. Hybrid sleep is why hibernate mode is turned off by default on desktop computers. It offers better protection compared to traditional hibernate. For extended periods away, hybrid sleep is the optimal choice.
