No one has reported issues with AOMEI copying an M.2 NVMe 1TB drive to a smaller NVMe drive before. I’ve double-checked the original drive, but it still won’t allow cloning. The Next button remains blank. I’m doing this because I already have the OS on another PC and prefer the smaller storage option.

Did you reduce the partition size on the bigger SSD so it fits on the smaller one? If the actual data isn’t huge but the partition is large, it wouldn’t work. Only certain programs can help, mostly paid options. (Thanks to the free version of EaseUS)

You can use it; if the larger drive has more data than the smaller one, cloning won’t occur.

Consider using Minitool Drivecopy for a free solution.
