This value indicates the speed at which the server handles and aligns game data. For instance, a server updating 60 times per second processes the game world 60 times every second. Tick rate plays a key role in the performance and fluidity of online multiplayer games. A higher tick rate typically brings:
- **Faster reactions**: Player actions are processed quicker.
- **Tighter sync**: Game conditions update more often, minimizing mismatches.
- **Greater precision**: Actions like shooting or movement calculations become more accurate.
Yet, increased tick rates also require more server power and bandwidth, which can raise costs and necessitate stronger hardware. Many popular first-person shooters and competitive titles aim for high tick rates (60, 120, or even 144 ticks per second) to maintain smooth gameplay. Some games may opt for lower tick rates to conserve resources or suit casual play.
I thought about moving it to my laptop, which holds my second account for afk stattrak farm. However, it performs poorly, delivering around 20 frames per second, making it hard to use while CS is running. A 64 fps limit doesn’t make much sense in that case. I also noticed it runs quieter when the window is minimized.
Maybe you can enable a fps cap in your video driver settings? I know you can do that in Nvidia's driver.
