Hello, I'm helping with a friend's PC issue. She can't adjust the CPU fan speed manually, even though she has an HP Omen hub. The system only shows GPU temperatures and fan speeds in BIOS, not CPU settings. It seems HP has set everything up this way. She's experiencing high temps—90 degrees during gameplay—and when she tries to change fan speeds, it only responds to the GPU. Her cooler is stock AMD, which might be limiting manual control. If you have more details, let me know.

Running at 80°C on an AMD CPU is typical when under stress, particularly with a standard cooling solution.

Hello, the issue is with the CPU, not the GPU. I realize I didn’t mention that clearly, so I’ll update my message.

Initially I thought suggesting a new cooler would help. But since you can't adjust the CPU fan speeds, that wouldn't be a strong suggestion. After all, you can't increase the fan speed if it's already fixed. Buying a Noctua NH-D15 would still likely lower temperatures even without further adjustments.

What CPU model are we talking about? The 25L comes with a mediocre cooler, while a basic cheap tower cooler from Thermalright performs much better. The fan is already reaching near maximum speed at around 90°C during balanced or performance mode. However, it’s worth noting that spending on an NHD15 is not ideal when a high-quality Thermalright model like the 120 is available for just $35. Also, check if it actually fits your setup!

At the Gaming Hub, you’ll notice the performance settings under your desktop. There are “Auto” modes for fans and manual modes where you can adjust both profiles and specific fan speeds directly—provided they’re correctly linked to the MB/controller.
