Hello, your setup seems to be working with the monitor as expected. The issue might lie with your laptop's display settings or driver configuration. Since you're using an older machine, checking the graphics drivers and ensuring they support the desired refresh rate could help. Also, verify that the HDMI cable is functioning properly and that the monitor's settings are correctly configured for the resolution you're using.

It could be that your laptop is outdated and struggles to handle the high data flow from the HDMI port, especially for 1440p at 165hz. I can't verify this since the HDMI version isn't listed online. Would you like me to check if a 1080p high refresh rate is possible?

The Intel UHD Graphics 620 is limited to HDMI 1.4, which handles 1920x1080p at 120Hz, allowing you to get the most performance from the connection.

Besides improving, I don't know of any others.
