Why not try a decent OC 4.1ghz? Cut the voltage down, keep things cooler. For F@H you're aiming for minimal voltage. The speed drop isn't huge for CPU WU (that's what I saw). I tested a 2700X and found at the highest P-state (around 3.7ghz at 1.212v) it performed well and stayed cool. (Just a bit of boost stuff)
I'll just execute F@H on my GPU. With two available, I believe one can be reserved solely for F@H (that's the setup)? It won't be quick, but it will work. Plus, the GPUs aren't overheating—they have a 190mm fan blowing over them. Air enters through the side, exits at the back, passes through an external fan, goes through my Phenom tower, and even warms up my dad's feet. I spent a lot of time getting everything ready.
