Unable to access SSD that was formatted on Linux (mint) within a Windows environment.
I recently purchased a new SSD due to my computer failing to start. After installing Linux Mint and formatting it for Windows use, I transferred files from my previous SSD to the new one. Windows was installed on the older SSD, but now I need to move data from the newer SSD back to it with the Windows setup. The drive appears in Disk Management but requires formatting or mounting. What changed: I had Windows on an older SSD and then reinstalled it on a fresh SSD running Linux Mint. Now I want to copy files from the new SSD to the old one, but when I start Windows, the new drive isn’t recognized. In Linux Mint, it shows as read-only. What steps tried: I attempted to copy via transfer method, but the new SSD didn’t show up. When using Linux, it flagged the old SSD as read-only. How can I transfer data from the newly bought SSD back to the older one?
Use a Linux live USB to transfer files from the older SSD to a new one.
During the process of transferring data from the SSD, the system indicates that the target drive is in read-only mode.
You may need to utilize Test Disk or a similar method to transfer data. It offers more immediate access possibly.
