The weapons you purchase merely change your approach, not your capabilities. Plus, the cost of guns is so high that it would deter most individuals from making a purchase.

BF4 could improve a lot without many features like irnv, thermal, jets, weapon lock, active protection, etc. Still, I really love BF, and all the earlier versions feel pretty weak compared to BC1 and BF2mc. Neither of those are available on PC or have a big player base. There seems to be no game that matches BF in quality.

Even with everything, I still enjoy it! 64 players, nice graphics (just a few low-res sky textures on a few maps...).

Try running BF3 on any terrain except Metro... Use the skybox view to test. Zero-lock infantry weapons works well, and two jets can easily destroy anything moving on the ground.

bf2 faces more issues than bf4, like annoying fog, nade spam, jet rape, and missile problems on tv. Maybe I'm missing something. OH GOD that random deviation!

It's more enjoyable and the fake content mainly comes from Karkand. You can also avoid planes by using the interior compartments of the Chopper Gunners, who have IR.
