I've played GTA V for a while and a friend asked if I tried online when I first got it. At the time, I said I didn't want to deal with all the rumors about online play. I was unaware beyond what I heard and thought my reaction was too strong, but now that I've played online, it's completely different. Does it improve?

Online is really enjoyable for heists and similar activities, especially when you can steer clear of players linked to you. Outside that, it's just terrible.

Based on my experience the game is mostly inactive (could be a regional issue, public lobbies in my area are usually empty, only filled with Chinese players at night). A lot of my friends and I just play in private lobbies and have private games together, never interacting with strangers.

You aren't doing anything wrong, that's just what gta V online is these days.
There is a reason why people hate it so much, including me. But the thing is, as long as people buy it and buy sharkcards they won't change anything.
Some people have friends and play in closed sessions which is imo the only way to actually enjoy gta V online. Thing is, you need friends, which i for example don't have so i don't play it at all.
The single player is nice tho, but that's about it.

This game is truly designed for really young children, not just older kids.

For online mission tasks (excluding multiplayer ones), just begin a private game with yourself!

I'm really frustrated because the thing I truly wanted isn't popular enough to be included in the game anymore. I just wanted to race amazing cars that are only available online for street races.

i only do online alone for occasions, just hop on my dinka double T and ride around the map. it's relaxing, especially on days with bad weather when you can't ride your real bike.

I decided to move the CEO office by purchasing Arcadius Business Center and swapping in Maze Bank West. After the trade, I had $2.5 million, but the funds disappeared during my next online session.

I contacted Rockstar Support, who told me their records didn't reflect the original purchase or trade-in, so they wouldn't refund me. Their logs were inconsistent, and now they seem to be prioritizing the customer's loss.

I'm uncertain about buying another Rockstar game in the future. This experience left a strong negative impression. Modders still have issues, and it's frustrating.
