I'm using Windows 10 Pro with an M2 SSD and running Linux (Ubuntu Server) on a SATA SSD. Everything functions properly except for a problem with Fluxbox in Linux—mouse and cursor issues appear. I attempted to install the video card driver but was told to disable UEFI Secure Boot, which I refused due to recognition problems. I'm wondering if disabling Secure Boot will still allow me to boot into Windows. I need the mouse to work correctly on the Linux side.

No changes needed for secure boot—it won’t influence driver mouse behavior at all. The system will start normally.

I thought the graphics card driver might solve the mouse pointer problem (it gets stuck in a corner but the mouse functions). Perhaps I don’t need to install the graphics card driver—everything else on Linux is working. The issue seems to be with the mouse itself. Can I find an alternative or additional mouse driver for this generic Logitech model?

What system are you using? Which distribution? The mouse isn't working properly, likely due to a graphics issue or missing GPU driver. I'll try another distribution.

The setup isn't straightforward because switching distros isn't easy, and running Ubuntu 16.10 might require specific packages. I need to check which components are missing.

Nvidia drivers are the best choice for these cards. Just download and install them using the provided installer interface.

I performed the following steps: added a PPA for graphics drivers, updated packages, installed NVIDIA driver, rebooted, and then installed Xorg with Fluxbox. It prompted me to disable UEFI Secure Boot during installation.

Install it now. It won’t be affected.

I disregarded it. :-) When it asked me to disable secure boot, I refused... and then X wouldn’t start at all. Undecided Interestingly, before the NVIDIA update, the boot menu displayed a sleek, compact font, whereas after the installation it shifted to a larger, stretched-out typeface (though it didn’t install properly because I didn’t opt out of secure boot). I have no clue why or how this affected things, but the warning on the screen stated that third-party tools won’t function if I keep UEFI secure boot enabled. Edit - if disabling secure boot works and both systems still run fine, that’s okay.
