Ubuntu starts with a glowing underscore cursor.
In reality, it happened really quickly, so I'll attempt it once more and check if it works.
Can’t upload an image because the system reports low memory, it pauses the current task, and then restarts quickly. It shows a blank screen and confirms completion in the logs.
I attempt to open the terminal and figure out how to proceed, but I'm unsure of the next steps.
You notice the cursor blinking. Pressing Ctrl+Alt+F2 triggers a specific action. Text appears as described. (The my_computer bit may vary) Ubuntu 20.04 LTS is installed on tty2. Login details are shown. If successful, you see the welcome message. Managing tasks are available via the provided links. Updates are enabled for security. This software comes without any warranty.)
This method works best for me most of the time, though it doesn’t always succeed. When I hit the blank screen and blinking underscore, I press Ctrl+Alt+F2 then Ctrl+Alt+F1 to restore the window manager. After that, pressing Ctrl+Alt+F2 brings up the command line prompt, so I skip logging in. Instead, I use Ctrl+Alt+F1 to get back. Keep in mind this won’t fix a corrupted grub setup.
