Hello, everyone, I brought up an unusual issue for you all. I’m running both Windows and Ubuntu Mate on my 6-year-old laptop. When I restart Windows, it switches to Ubuntu, but that’s mostly due to GRUB settings. The more interesting part is that booting straight into Ubuntu without switching back makes the desktop feel sluggish—pages load slowly and scrolling causes constant stutter. On the other hand, when I switch back to Windows, everything runs smoothly with no problems. I’m not sure what’s happening and would really appreciate any Linux advice to help me out. My hardware specs are as follows: Intel Core i7 3517U (boosts up to 3GHz), Intel HD4000 GPU, 8GB RAM at 1666MHz DDR3, 500GB SSD, and a 120GB HDD from Kingston. Both operating systems are installed here.
