I rely on Xubuntu every day; it works well despite being a bit minimal. Kubuntu looks more attractive but performs equally well on any system from the last five years, possibly better. Which devices are causing this problem? You might encounter the same trouble with other Linux distributions based on Ubuntu or Debian as well.

Could you clarify when the issue arises? Was it present from the start or did it begin after the setup process?

I set up Windows 10 with UEFI using a USB flash drive previously. Perhaps that's why Pop!_OS isn't installing? I'm now trying to install it on an external SSD.

What version of the OS are you using? UEFI or legacy? Should secure boot be enabled or disabled? In reality, I’d prefer Ubuntu over any of its versions, as most Ubuntu-based distros are much more selective about hardware compatibility compared to straight-up Ubuntu. To this point, I still don’t understand why people suggest Mint—it doesn’t offer any advantages over Ubuntu and often won’t boot on around half the hardware it supports.

I placed the Pop!_OS 21.04 installation media on a USB drive and managed to complete the setup. Secure Boot caused an issue.

Linux Mint or ZorinOS are great options. Kubuntu is also a solid choice.

Mx Linux and ZorinOS perform poorly together with secure boot. If he truly needs Linux, he must turn off secure boot. Otherwise, he can stick to Fedora, Manjaro, Linux Mint, or any Ubuntu variant, along with Slack.

ElementaryOS (https://elementary.io) appears impressive, and the App Center stands out as a top choice for app deployment on Linux.
