I was really impressed by that headline, but joining a domain can be tricky. Do you have any experience with it? Anyone else think it's possible? Would you like me to find a tutorial or help you through the process? I'm curious if Linus has shared anything about it! 😊

Apparently it is something you do during OS installation: https://ubuntu.com/blog/ubuntu-21-04-is-here ~edit: If you want to make a video suggestion, there's a thread for it here: Though, I'm not certain what's so exciting about watching someone install Ubuntu and having it join an AD. It's not something most people outside a corporate environment would care about.

I've tried installing the OS several times, but I can't locate it. It seems they're using AdsysD for the connection, which appears to be a more automated setup compared to what's currently in place with Realm and SSSD. The OS config works when you specify the domain, but I'm struggling to figure it out.

This setup raises questions about how it influences Windows GPO configurations and whether those changes apply to Ubuntu when using domain policies.

From the Ubuntu blog, it seems Ubuntu backs only a part of the GPOs and likely overlooks unfamiliar content. There appear to be few practical guides available at the moment, with most existing pieces being summaries of the official announcement.
