Your Plex server is currently running Ubuntu 18.04. An upgrade to 20.04.1 could be beneficial. Before installing, consider any special steps needed since your Plex library is on a NAS and Plex is your primary use case.

Considering End of Standard Support is not until 2023, not particularly. You can find a table detailing the package difference between Ubuntu releases at https://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=ubuntu . If you do decide to upgrade to 20.04.1, consider backing up. I've lost one too many servers after upgrading to a major release.

Everything seems to be stored locally. This device functions mainly as a transcoding unit. If I'm still around in 2023, I probably won't act too quickly.

I own old hard disks that still function well. They’ve run nonstop for a long time. It’s not about how often they power on, but how much they’re used. In my setup, it’s usually just a few users on my Plex server, and we also use other streaming services. So most of the time Plex acts more like an extra DVR than a real media player.
