Ubuntu 17.04 fails to start on a Ryzen 1700 processor.
I attempted to restart my Ryzen machine using a live USB running Ubuntu 17.04, but it crashed badly, displaying distorted text on the screen. Have others experienced similar problems with this setup? I've noticed some stability concerns with Ubuntu on Ryzen before the OS is installed, though nothing seems to be wrong during the initial setup. The boot drive appears reliable—my laptop worked fine after booting from it once the desktop failed. Updated October 15, 2017 by fallinginhat
The PC operates smoothly on Windows 10 every day, indicating the problem likely isn't related to the GPU.
You wait a long time before the system boots up on your old Atom netbook.
Tried the 17.10 beta and it worked! Didn't know 17.10 was still upcoming.
