Ublock & Youtube
Ublock & Youtube
In about ten minutes of the Ublock Origin logger output for the YouTube homepage, it began from zero.
Running Ublock Origin on the YouTube page in Firefox slightly raised CPU usage by 7%.
The link at the bottom of the page only displays:

I’m unsure if I should report it, as I frequently encounter errors before others do... so I might just wait for more results to appear in searches.

I’m still not clear about what it’s doing?
This issue occurs on Chrome, Firefox & Edge. I don’t know how long it’s been happening, as I only noticed it yesterday.
I’ve already blocked over 795 items, and it was increasing while I observed it. That didn’t seem typical.
Two constants: UBlock Origin and YouTube.
It might be related to the website, since it doesn’t happen on any other page I visit.
It’s not just my PC—an ex-mod from this area also reported it last night.
Because many YouTube videos are actually paid advertisements, they get blocked. There are also numerous duplicates on the page. You'd need to review your filter lists to identify which sources are recognized as advertisers—such as Fanboy's Annoyances or Fanboy's Notifications. These paid ad videos are frequently added, which is why the count keeps rising. It appears both YouTube and uBlock are functioning as expected for them. Adblock operates similarly.
I have a premium subscription so I avoid ads above videos, only seeing them inside the videos like what Kitguru does. I will look at the filter list as it might be the reason.
