Hey AC fans,
it seems the upcoming Assassin’s Creed game has been officially announced. Ubisoft confirms that Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the next installment in the series. Beyond the art reveal, no further official details were disclosed. The company intends to discuss the project at its Ubisoft Forward event.

The live stream is scheduled for September 10 at 3 p.m. ET, or 12 p.m. PT. You can watch it on Ubisoft’s Twitch channel.

According to the leaks, Mirage will return to its roots, omitting leveling systems and dialogue features. The setting will be Baghdad between 860-870 CE—essentially a return to the origins of the franchise, similar to AC1 and AC2? More information is expected later.

This comes after several leaks and rumors about Mirage. Artwork began circulating on social media, reportedly from Ubisoft’s official store. Details have already been leaking before, including the game’s name and key elements. It appears to be the project mentioned by Bloomberg earlier this year.

If accurate, the game is expected to follow Basim from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and may launch next year. Regardless, the visual cues from this artwork are quite intriguing. The previous entry, Valhalla, was released in 2020 and has seen several post-launch updates. Ubisoft is also developing Assassin’s Creed Infinity, a live-service expansion of the series. Rumors suggest Mirage could be an independent title drawing inspiration from earlier games before shifting to the RPG style seen in Odyssey and Valhalla.

It looks like a prequel to Basim, around a decade before Valhalla. I think this would mean portraying a younger version of Basim.
I’m okay with skipping dialogue options and the repetitive leveling process, though I still doubt Ubi’s direction.

It might be a basim prequel based on the details provided. Even without confidence in UBI, let's check what the developers are doing with this new AC game. At least they should eliminate the grinding this time. Fingers crossed.

Some updates regarding this title. It seems the official information for Assassin’s Creed Mirage has been shared through the PlayStation Network. Reports indicate the game was quickly made available on PSN. The game’s details align with the leaks and rumors that emerged earlier this month. This title is a cross-generation release, launching on both older and newer platforms. In Mirage, players will follow Basim, a clever street thief trying to find answers and justice while moving through the lively streets of ninth-century Baghdad.

Key aspects highlighted in the description include:
- A fresh modern interpretation of classic franchise elements and gameplay over 15 years.
- Smooth parkour movement across the city and stealthy takedowns with more intense assassinations.
- An immersive environment filled with dense, vibrant life where characters respond to your actions.
- Exploration of four distinct districts during the Golden Age of Baghdad.

Ubisoft intends to officially announce Assassin’s Creed Mirage on September 10th!

The trailer seems appealing, but I prefer real gameplay clips since trailers might mislead.

These early trailers and teasers don't fully capture what we're looking for. We should watch real final gameplay, not just beta development content. Still, it's encouraging to see UBI bringing the AC franchise back to its origins, which would be a welcome shift if these trailers are worth watching.

AC 4 definitely stands out as one of the top AC games. It's among the few titles in my collection that I actually have a Gold version. However, I've grown somewhat bored with the repetitive sword fighting animations, which often forced me into spinning attacks. In Mirage, they seem to be improving with smoother parkour and more intense killing moves, so I'll be watching closely.

I’ve experienced most of the Assassin's Creed titles since the original on PS3. Today I noticed something that suggests this game will be rated for adults, mainly because of gambling elements. What do they anticipate players will spend their real money on? Check out the video I found.

It's disappointing if real gambling exists in AC MIRAGE. It seems they are focusing on NFTs, loot boxes, and micro-transactions. Concerning the 18+ adult rating, I'm uncertain what to say, but that label clearly conveys everything. I'm not sure about previous ratings for other AC games, but I think Mirage shouldn't have been labeled an 18 PLUS game. They should have made gambling a separate DLC option instead of including it in the main game, allowing players to choose if they want to invest in any additional content regardless of the rating.
