UBISOFT is going to charge $70 for all their big AAA titles, which used to cost more!
Hey everyone, did PC games suddenly get way more expensive as time goes on? I wanted prices to match up before, but it looks like big companies and many devs want different plans. Now you have to pay a lot of money for those super AAA games that are even broken in half or just not working right. 😡 Ubisoft said the new normal is $70 for their main AAA titles going forward. This means prices went up 16.6% compared to when they cost around $60. Even though this wasn't mentioned directly, this change probably will also happen on PC, unless Ubisoft has other plans for gamers on that platform (which seems unlikely). The Ubisoft CEO said $70 would be the standard price for their big releases across all platforms. This means $70 is now the base cost for a "Standard Edition." More expensive versions and extra season passes will cost more. NBA 2K21 was the first game to start at $70 in August of 2020. Ubisoft might change this price on their upcoming game Skull and Bones, which releases next November. Some games will stay the same price as other things in the market, but big AAA titles will all go for $70. The CEO didn't say if other upcoming games like Assassin's Creed Red or Hexe will follow suit, even though those aren't coming out soon. Assassin's Creed Mirage comes out next year and is currently only $50 on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC stores. It is being advertised as a smaller release, so that might make sense for the lower price. COD MW2 was selling at that price back in June. ubisoft is finally catching up to the trend of games on Steam. The Call of Duty experience includes Black Ops 7, Black Ops 6, and Warzone, all available through their official store link: store.steampowered.com
I actually bought a lot of extra money to get this game's latest update out, even though it wasn't the original standard version.
