This specific switch is recognized for its heating problems. I’d steer clear of it. I own one, and it got too hot when I connected a U6 Enterprise access point. Others have reported similar issues where the heat triggers the ISP+ to disconnect from RJ45 adapters.

Thanks for the update! I've checked the details, and the first mentions about the unit came about 10 months ago. Some people are pointing to either cables or outdated firmware as the cause. I'll remember this while I'm setting it up in a well-ventilated area (hopefully it works). Appreciate you keeping me posted!

The 10Gbps RJ45 connectors have often presented uncertainty. Delivering a 10Gbps connection via this method demands more power than SFP+ was built for, which has kept the situation ambiguous. Cisco previously didn’t produce such connectors, and I think modern versions have shorter ranges. My recommendation is to keep distances as short as possible and avoid overcrowding them with multiple SFPs. Ideally, don’t place two 10Gbps copper connectors side by side. With four ports, use only two of them and leave space for flexibility.

When your gear is near the switch and you need SFPs instead of 10GBASE-T, buy a few 10GbS SFP+ cables. They’re significantly cheaper than a set of 10GBASE-T SFPs.

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, the available ports are clustered together, so it’s best to avoid using them. You might want to hold off until you get a switch that supports 10GbE properly.
