It's not uncommon for temperatures to fluctuate when using high-performance hardware like a Ryzen 5 3600, especially during intense tasks or when switching between different workloads. The changes you observed could be due to cooling system adjustments or thermal management responses. Keep monitoring to see if the pattern stabilizes.

It was interesting because I shut down Firefox, kept the chat window active, and it settled around 36-37°C. It seems they’re not excessively hot just for Firefox with YouTube running and the chat open.

Usage will cause a rise in temperature, so consider it alongside the ambient heat. Ryzen can quickly get hot during normal work, which is typical. Unless you notice steady readings over 80-85°C, it's safe to ignore concerns.

It doesn't reach such extreme temperatures—typically staying around 66°C to 71°C in games using the Frostbite engine.

The Wraith Stealth performs poorly and makes a lot of noise. I strongly suggest getting a Wraith Prism instead. You should easily spot one for around $10 on a used site, many users skip the stock model they get with more expensive Ryzens. My R5 3600 temps fell from 80-85cc under Prime95 stress to 50-60c. The performance also improves. I don’t see why AMD didn’t include the Prism in more configurations. I’d be happy to pay a bit more for the upgrade (the Stealth still costs money to make). The Ryzen 5 3600 will throttle under heavy load with a stock Wraith Stealth cooler in a hot environment, and the noise is really bothersome.

Sorry for the delayed response. I'm currently using a BEQUIET! Shadow Rock LP for my CPU. I've also installed it on an older FX 8300 when upgrading to a Ryzen 5 3600. The cooler is around 5-6 years old but still functions well. I'm considering switching to BEQUIET! Dark Rock 4 in the future, though I'm unsure if it will fit my PC case. Cooler Master Masterbox MB511.

You feel better with the 5900X, but it doesn’t really make you any cooler.
