It varies by laptop! What model are you using? Generally, anything under $105 works well. Doing it yourself is a great option—it's much more affordable. Also, undervolting can make a big difference.

You don’t have to worry about cleaning and repasting. The toughest part is removing the plastic cover, which often breaks during disassembly.
