Changed company recently. No sudden ping increases during the day or after midnight. Previously, we experienced constant high ping for years, occasional spikes, and then intermittent drops. Recently, after switching, afternoon pings every 20 minutes for short periods are appearing. This is unusual and not typical even with heavy traffic. It might not be normal, especially given the bank holiday conditions. I’m hoping it will improve.

It could involve several factors, especially if stability is lacking. A robust antenna might help but interference from nearby sources can still occur. Depending on your position relative to the provider and obstacles, various elements can trigger those spikes. I’m not certain about the exact configuration in your gaming setup, but I’ve generally had fewer problems connecting my smartphone to the laptop for games. I experienced decent speeds in Marbella and north of Barcelona with Orange (~64ms average, up to 140ms max). Recently I haven’t been in Spain much, possibly due to increased network traffic causing occasional drops. Our Madrid partner uses Movistar wireless, and so far the connection has held during calls. I haven’t played games with them yet. Could you confirm if there are similar issues on your side? Should we verify if the router is also affecting performance or just your device?

It’s just occurring in the afternoon. I’ve got a thread from over a year about my old ISP. We upgraded only a few days ago. The previous provider would email saying we had to lower YouTube video resolution to prevent it from cutting out. After midnight I can download games, watch YouTube and play games without issues. It started lagging in the afternoon yesterday and I’ve been playing Mordhau tonight with severe spikes. I’m using Ethernet too—it happens on our living room PC and my phone. This isn’t my PC. Probably it will stop within an hour when it reaches midnight.

On Morhau it's performing poorly, whereas League of Legends shows stable ping around 45-52. It briefly reached 180, but doesn't consistently hit the 600-1000 range seen on meter.net.

I realize the issue. The league is really slow, which is frustrating. I just want to enjoy some games in the afternoon.
