Typical current usage, voltage levels and temperatures for the i9 13900K
Do you have any idea if this performance is typical for an i9 13900k? It seems it hits 100 instantly during the multi-core test on r23 and remains there. Also, the power consumption appears quite high.
It's a bit under the mark with the current power limits—it should be around 36k, but without them it should reach 40k. A 35k is still within range, particularly if your operating system isn't optimized. The power consumption numbers align with what you'd expect from that chip. The temperatures are reasonable for a 240mm AIO; a 360mm setup would be better for cooling, and adding a contact frame would be beneficial.
It's a smart approach, though I wouldn't rely on XTU for this. You can simply adjust the negative voltage offset in the BIOS, which should allow you to undervolt the chip without needing XTU active. The only downside is that you'll have to restart each time you want to modify the voltage.
Sure, I understand. It’s important to dig deeper into it, but thanks for the feedback. This is just my second attempt so I’m still learning—coming from a 7th-gen i3 to a 13th-gen i9 might have been a challenge.
