Only when you receive a K series, the situation mirrors what happens with B vs Z since not all advantages come from it—similar to Adobe with Ring Bus, Quick Sync, and CUDA performing exceptionally well.
The distinction lies in the specifics of the components and their performance under certain conditions. A stock 8700K paired with a 8700 under ideal settings—no power or temperature limits, full turbo—delivers similar results because both utilize the same 4.3GHz all-core turbo. Quicksync proves valuable, and if your tasks benefit from it, it can surpass higher-core Ryzen models. The key is matching the right hardware to the appropriate software, not just quantity.
I believed the variation lay in the boost clock. When I purchased my i7 8700k, I compared it to the i7 8700 at launch; the K chip offered only a slight improvement of 1 to 2 frames per second in games. I don’t typically buy CPUs for stock performance, so the i7 8700 was a cautious choice for me. The previous time I relied on AMD processors for business was back in 2007, and I had to replace them due to software problems. That was expensive, which made me hesitant about AMD. If I were to earn again, I’d still prefer Intel because taking risks could mean missing deadlines and losing clients. That’s why I keep two systems and everything spare.
All my efforts over the past eight months have paid off perfectly. I highly recommend the 2700x version.
