Thank you, I’ll attempt the update settings again. For the restart, I tried that same method yesterday and it failed. The PC restarted possibly for a different reason than updates? Or did it function only during active hours? Still, the issue remains unresolved, and the only workaround so far has been using anydesk.
Then it might be restarting due to another issue or there could be a problem with the installation. These are the settings I use on my personal PC and I've only experienced Windows restarting because of crashes. Even though I use more than what I mentioned, you could try those changes to check if they help (By the way, turning off "Configure automatic updates" only stops Windows 10 auto-updates, you can still update via the settings app). All my GPO settings; Computer config > Admin Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update Always auto restart at scheduled time > disabled Allow auto updates immediate installation > disabled Configure automatic updates > disabled Turn off-auto-restart for updates during active hours > enabled Turn off auto-restart notifications for update installations > enabled No auto-restart with logged on users for scheduled auto updates > enabled Don't show the 'install updates and shut down' option [...] > enabled Don't change the default to 'install updates and shut down' [...] > enabled Don't let update deferral policies cause scans against WU [...] Display options for update notifications > enabled > option 2 I might have registry changes to support this, but I'm not sure, I'd need to look deeper.
I'll attempt it tomorrow at 11pm here and refine the outcomes, thanks!
