I reside on the second level of my home, close to the attic. The coax cables serve our internet, and the modem is located downstairs. I’m frustrated with unstable Wi-Fi extensions and want a solution that keeps both the downstairs modem and an upstairs one working together. Would it be possible to install another modem or router above while maintaining the current setup? Or would I need a completely different approach?

Not unless you purchase another internet link. However, you can utilize Moca. It will employ the same coaxial cable as your current provider, allowing them to share the same line. Moca 2.0 adapters can reach nearly 1 Gbps. I've noticed Moca adapters with integrated Ethernet and WiFi options. Standard adapters typically include both coax and Ethernet connections.

Yes, you can adjust the placement of the coax connector. Since you have a wall outlet on the upper floor, you may need to modify the wiring or routing to ensure proper signal transmission.

For the modem, you need a strong signal. I represent Comcast only as a representative. Comcast will set up a two-way splitter on your main line. One end connects to the modem, the other to the TV, or possibly another splitter if you have multiple TVs. Make sure your coaxial outlet provides the best possible connection, then simply connect the modem there.
