Goodnight everyone, I’m facing a challenge where my PC displays a blue screen after roughly 30 minutes of use, even though each RAM stick functions properly on its own. Here’s a bit about my setup: an Asus TUF B360-Pro Gaming motherboard with an i5 8400 CPU, an Asus NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GPU, 8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 2400MHz RAM, a 500GB NVMe WD boot drive, plus additional hard drives for backup. I’ve only installed one RAM slot out of four on my motherboard for about two years. After adding another 8GB stick of the same type, I configured dual channel and enabled it in BIOS. Initially, gaming sessions lasted an hour without issues, but then the blue screen occurred. I retried with different slots, applied XMP profiles, and even tweaked the voltage slightly, but nothing resolved the problem. No matter the configuration—slots, profiles, or settings—it still crashes after a short time. I’ve tested each stick separately and pushed the system to its limits, yet they still fail together. Any guidance would be invaluable!
Two years apart might mean the ICs are variations that lead to issues, which is why RAMs are usually sold in groups to ensure consistency across components.
Which BIOS version are you using? There seem to be multiple updates highlighting enhancements such as better DRAM compatibility and increased system stability.
