Checked online sources and found no clear comparison between Windows 8.1 Full Version and Windows 8.1 Pro. Regarding Raid 1 mirroring, you don’t necessarily need the Pro version if you have the Full Version installed.

No, there are complete versions for both 8.1 and 8.1 Pro. 2) You might be able to achieve this using hardware... the software remains uncertain.

It seems you can achieve Raid 1 using the software inside the MOBO (by configuring it via BIOS), though some users find the MOBO version inconsistent. For Windows, it tends to work more reliably. When you open Disk Management and right-click a drive, you’ll see 'striping' instead of 'Add mirror'.

It's feasible to manage Software RAID, but it's usually more effective to use hardware solutions like RAID controllers in the OPROM or UEFI settings.

As a gamer, admin, or advanced user who enjoys adjusting Windows settings, the Pro edition could be worth considering. The regular version lacks administrative tools, which are quite essential.
