Some system files might be damaged. Have you attempted using the update troubleshooter? https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/wind...ce169755dd or the System File Checker Tool? https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topi...6e85d4094e or performing a Windows repair via an installer?

I test the Update troubleshooter, it shows a pending restart and suggests running it afterward. After restarting, it behaves the same as a regular update. The SFC tool reports no integrity issues.

This situation is frustrating. It seems the previous owner might not have reset the device correctly for a new user, or they might have claimed it was stolen—especially since your keyboard works while theirs doesn’t. Looking up the Razor reveals it’s essentially a standard keyboard layout, suggesting the other version likely has extra features that could be causing driver issues. I’m hoping someone can assist you in fixing this and getting the update loop working again. Based on my experience, reverting to Windows 7 or Linux might be the only way to restore stability.

From discussions on old MS forums I learned how to locate the product key using WMI in the command prompt. However, it seems you no longer have a valid key, which stops the process. Regarding the keyboard, some users found issues when plugging devices individually; only working correctly when both Razer and Corsair are connected simultaneously. Since your mouse and headset are also Corsair, using just the Corsair keyboard avoids needing multiple apps.

This could be explained by the second issue I encountered. I believe the device wasn't properly linked back to their Microsoft account.
