Two-player FPS games with split-screen mode
Hi,
I'm looking for PC games that support a 2-player split screen setup using multiple controllers. I want to play on my 4K TV and make sure input lag isn't an issue. My girlfriend is excited to play games like COD with me, but I don’t want to buy a console. It’s her birthday soon, so I’m hoping to surprise her with some co-op gaming!
Has anyone tried this before? What setups do they use? Thanks!
The only Call of Duty game I'm aware of that features split-screen recently is Black Ops 3. However, I'm not very familiar with any COD titles from the past six years. Steam will offer the option to look for co-op, local co-op, and splitscreen games through its browser at https://imgur.com/a/Q1huJkI
Divinity Original Sin 2 is great with two controllers.
(awesome RPG, by the way)
I think Serious Sam and Shadow Warrior also work well with it.
Rocket League is fine too if you have two controllers.
Thanks everyone, I'm looking into options. Would anyone have suggestions? I used to own a PS3 but my girlfriend had an Xbox 360... I tend to like PS-style controllers.
If you choose Xbox, opt for one specific style. If you pick PlayStation, go for PS4. Both support official wireless adaptors. My old 360 controllers are still in use, though the bumpers are the first to be replaced. The joysticks follow, and buttons might get a bit soft, but that’s better than the poor joysticks on those devices. Windows also supports 360 controllers. PS3 controllers need to be connected via plug-in and require software that mimics them—setting up is manageable but will likely need around two to three programs. It’s much simpler to use an official controller. I currently own an Xbox One controller and used it wired before, but switched to a wireless adapter which works well. I’d have liked a wired one, but I received it as a gift.
Seems like I'm in a tough spot, dealing with some intense themes and maybe a bit of confusion about the actual matches.
