I just purchased a gigabyte B450M gaming motherboard without the cooler backplate. Do you have another method to install a cooler? Any suggestions would be welcome.

The cooler is typically provided with the backplate, not the motherboard, since not every cooler is heavy enough to warrant it.

Yes, the stock wraith stealth cooler requires a backplate for proper fit and performance.

Yes, if you purchased a fresh board, there should be a backplate present. If you acquired it secondhand, it's probably time to make your own modifications.

The wraith stealth requires the backplate on the rear of the motherboard. Without it, you may have to purchase a replacement cooler that includes its own backplate.
