Yes, it is possible to run two hard drives with identical Windows installations on the same system. Both Windows versions would function as valid operating systems.

You can choose the desired drive from the boot options (often F8 during startup) to load the specific copy. For running both OSes simultaneously, you'll need to use a virtual machine inside Windows.

I know what a virtual machine is, I've even used one before. Here is a basic example of what I'm describing: A person goes into the store and buys one windows copy and two hard drives. He puts each drive into his brand new system with no previous drives. He installs windows on each drive with the same windows copy he got from the store, and uses the same activation that came with that windows copy. Are both drives OS's[Windows] still genuine? I'm using genuine as a windows term.
