Two networks connected via powerline adapter?
So my garage is physically apart from my house, with another building in between. My car has its own WiFi signal, which I use just for configuring settings inside the vehicle—not for internet access. In short, I’ve created a separate network since the Car WiFi can’t reach my home directly. I’ve extended it to an AP inside my house using powerline adapters because even though I asked my dad if he really wanted to run an Ethernet cable, I figured it’s safer. This setup is all set and works as intended.
Your idea about running two networks over the powerline adapter using virtual LANs sounds interesting. You could potentially have a dedicated AP for the car network and another for your home, keeping them isolated. That way, you’d stay connected to your main network while still having reliable access in the garage. Just make sure the configuration supports VLANs or similar segmentation if you go that route.
