You're referring to a few specific motherboard models. The DIMM slot on an MSI Z370 is indeed limited, and a Z270 without installed CPU, fan, or RAM won't show up. The exact values of the boards aren't critical—what matters is the chipset and compatibility. These chipsets support the i7-7700K, i5-8600K and similar models. Selling them could fetch a decent amount depending on condition and demand.
Found the list I prepared... MSI Z270 A-Pro, MSI Z390 Gaming Pro, Carbon. I can post the Z390 but only slot 3 shows RAM. The Z270, I tried multiple boots, but no display appears. Everything functions normally and no error lights are coming up. I tested discrete graphics, HDMI and VGA on the motherboard but still nothing. I’m hoping to get a refund. If I sold both CPUs and motherboards, what would be a rough estimate? I currently have a Ryzen system and don’t need these.
It seems like a basic Z270 board, likely not worth much beyond $20 to $30 for parts. The Z390 model might be repairable, but you shouldn't expect more than $50 from it given its condition.
