today i arrived home and switched on my computer to discover it wouldn't post, yet remained stuck on VGA (the lights on my motherboard displayed the boot sequence. everything functioned as expected, but the VGA indicator stayed lit and never changed to the BOOT light). after a brief moment of worry, i searched for possible causes and solutions. one article suggested faulty RAM might be the issue. so, i removed my RAM modules one by one to test. it turned out that wasn't the case and another problem emerged: my computer wouldn't accept any power. i panicked further and pressed down on a RAM stick more firmly. eventually, the machine started booting up, but when i released it, it ceased receiving power and shut down completely. this made me realize the RAM wasn't fully seated, even though it sounded like it was installed correctly. this has never happened before, and i haven't encountered similar problems with others. prior to this, i also dealt with CMOS issues, which required clearing it every few months to fix display problems (the computer would boot and post, but the screen remained blank). clearing the CMOS resolved the issue. this is my first PC build, and i'm relatively new to the gaming side of computers, so i lack extensive experience. do you know anyone who has faced these problems? any advice would be greatly appreciated!
The simplest reason is the power supply is faulty. Since it's a low-quality one, it makes sense. The rest of your components seem fine.
I agree with you about the power supply. I’m still unsure regarding the CMOS issue.
