Checking if the purchase is worthwhile depends on your needs. Regarding GTA V, it should run at 4K resolution if the system meets the requirements.

It wouldn't be worthwhile just about 5% quicker than a single 970 for the more costly option. You could play GTA V in 4K with low settings and under 30 FPS if you got the 4GB version.

I wouldn't expect a mid-range GPU to handle Slim, especially with the 4GB model. You should be fine running GTA V at that quality, but performance might drop to around 60 FPS or lower unless you lower the settings.

Certainly! A single Titan X would likely not be sufficient to accomplish that task.

It would match a 980 with fewer vRAM. Connecting the 970s is another matter. My 760s works like a 780ti.
