A few days back my Steam Deck and an Anker battery stopped working. With the Steam Deck there was no warning or prior steps that could explain the problem. I unplugged it right away and it didn’t power on. The charging light also remained inactive. When I mentioned the device stopped working, it was clear it had failed completely. To be precise, there were no signs of activity from the console. Shortly afterward I saw a similar situation with the Anker battery. I attempted to charge my phone using it, but it refused to power up. Then I observed the battery indicator lights didn’t respond either. Like the Steam Deck, the battery showed no signs of life. I’m trying to figure out what might have caused this. At the moment I don’t have a definite answer, but it’s possible the Steam Deck charger is involved since that’s the main one I use for both devices. However, it’s not certain, as my phone also works fine with the same charger. I’m stuck right now; my Steam Deck has ended warranty and that’s not an option. As for the Anker battery, I haven’t checked it yet.

What kind of charger? The photo looks blurry. It wouldn't be the first USB-C charger known for damaging devices. If you need to fix it, it seems the stream deck uses standard parts that can be bought from suppliers like Mouser, so repairs should be possible without resorting to the black market.

Even without warranty, you can reach out to steam/valve for repairs and further solutions. They are usually the best starting point for troubleshooting. Alternatively, you might consider switching to a different charge for your steam deck and charging it on another outlet. Connect your device for about 10-15 minutes, then while still plugged in, press and hold the power button for approximately 15 seconds.
