Complex tasks are required. UnRAID handles VMs effectively. Running multiple OSes simultaneously is only possible through virtualization.
This subsystem is designed for system administrators who like using bash and core Linux commands to manage a Windows environment. It's not intended for running full Linux applications. Think of it similarly to XP Mode in Windows 7, which was primarily for business use cases where older office software worked well. Running demanding games or 3D apps in XP Mode would have been problematic.
