Hi everyone. I own two older prebuilt systems and don’t want to spend too much time rebuilding them. Can two of these setups share a connection so they can run the same game or program together? Both have DDR2 RAM and HDD drives—one has an AMD Phenom 2, the other an Intel Core 2 Duo from about ten years ago. One still has an old NVIDIA graphics card, the other doesn’t. Would it be possible to run Minecraft on the Intel machine while the AMD one maximizes its performance?

Cluster computing exists, but it's mainly used for heavy tasks like rendering and calculations. You can't really do complex work at once; instead, you switch between simple jobs, such as playing Minecraft while streaming or browsing.

They seem quite advanced. Technology isn't permanent. You might need to move on sometimes.

In addition to the need for tailored software, cluster computing doesn’t improve frame rates by simply combining a CPU and a GPU.
