I’ve relied on MSI Afterburner for years to monitor system performance during games, but recently it’s showing different results than Task Manager. Since GPU and memory stats line up, which one should you believe?

Task Manager functions similarly to AccuWeather—useful for providing data but often inaccurate.

They claim tm is responsible for incorrect results. I tried a new game, but the issue persisted.

Interesting detail: combining two apps can cause interference known as the "observer effect." Avoid this approach. P.S.: Afterburner remains the reliable choice.

Two apps can take measurements at various points every second. One runs at 333ms into the 1000ms window, another at 666ms within each 1000ms block. The varying numbers come from how often samples are taken and timing differences. This isn’t one app influencing another... It’s easy to think it’s strange.
