Two antivirus solutions available.
I don't have a personal opinion, but you might want to compare malwarebytes, webroot, and other options based on your needs.
I use Avast Free and MalwareBytes Free for reliable protection. Avast offers ActiveShield and online defense, while MalwareBytes lets me scan for pop-ups or ads whenever needed. For more details, check out Linus's video comparing antivirus and antimalware solutions.
malwarebytes isn't an antivirus itself, so adding webroot or a strong antispyware alongside is acceptable. Just install one antivirus program.
It doesn't have a specific label, yet it blocks the same threats as Avast does. For protection, Malwarebytes Pro stands out as the essential tool for most users. Running into infection means your setup isn't configured correctly.
I previously suggested Avast as well. Now I advise against using it. - Their antivirus system often flags harmless files and websites. - With Internet Security by Avast, the firewall performed poorly, causing numerous IRQL crashes. They later improved it, but my confidence vanished. The sandbox also faced similar problems. Their forum lacked default SSL support, ran outdated software, and was vulnerable to Heartbleed when forced to use SSL. When I warned about these risks, they reacted poorly. After being compromised, they addressed the issues, though the interface remained unstable. They failed to provide proper support packages, auto-installed updates didn’t work reliably, and even after manual updates, installation frequently failed. Check their forums for how often users are told to reinstall. It’s quite frustrating. I had hoped to trust Avast, but everything felt unprofessional.
