my msi z370 gaming pro carbon has a carbon AC, but i'm not sure if my i5 9600k can manage 4 sticks of RAM. i don't know for sure, and it might put extra strain on the imc.

I just mentioned that you should be okay as long as you don’t exceed 3600Mhz. The pressure comes from pushing the CPU beyond its limits, especially when using multiple sticks at high speeds. My older machine with an i7 5930K works perfectly with four 8GB (32GB) 3000Mhz modules. Your processor is much newer than mine, so it should handle more than that. Just make sure your RAM stays in the Qualified Version List, matches your motherboard, and you don’t attempt speeds above 3600Mhz. If you need faster performance, stick to two modules instead.

It should function perfectly with 4 sticks at 8GB each, operating at 3600MHz without any overclocking. It will perform similarly to using 2 sticks for the same capacity.
