Consider purchasing a single 8 GB memory module or two 4 GB modules. Each choice has its advantages and disadvantages. A single module offers simplicity and potentially lower cost, but may limit upgrade flexibility. Two modules provide more capacity and better performance, though they require careful installation and might be pricier. Choose based on your needs for expansion and budget.

According to the previous statement, using a single channel reduces your memory bandwidth by half.

Two units are usually better instead of just one since each DIMM works best in single-channel mode; using two or four enables dual-channel operation, boosting memory bandwidth significantly compared to a single channel setup.

It depends on the CPU model and the number of RAM slots available in the motherboard. New CPUs take advantage of dual-channel memory and fast RAM, while older ones do not. If your motherboard only has two RAM slots, adding an 8GB stick will work fine since you’ll have room for another if needed. With four slots, using two sticks is a better option and leaves space for future upgrades.
