TV Restores Connection to Internet Upon Powering Up
Recently we switched to fiber and installed the Deco mesh system (x20). My smart TV now connects to Wi-Fi automatically when I power it on. It’s not a major issue but can be bothersome. When YT or similar apps are running, the app gets disrupted and I have to exit, clear cache, and restart. This happens only after the TV has been off for a while. If I turn it back on after ten minutes, things work fine—after a few hours it stabilizes. The IP setting is DHCP on the TV, but on my Wi-Fi settings it shows a static IP with a lease time of zero. I’ve restarted both devices and lost the connection, but it reconnects automatically after about ten seconds when the TV powers up. Any suggestions would be helpful.
It seems you're asking about delays when switching on your TV and connecting to Wi-Fi. Based on your experience, it sounds like your TV might have power-saving features or a quick startup setting that could affect connection time. Checking those options might help improve performance.
Before I could pause the TV in the middle of a video and restart it, the video would begin almost instantly—faster than the time needed for the TV to fully power up. Now I receive a notification saying there’s no connection, and all icons vanish (like buttons or subscription lists). I must close the app and delete it before reopening it when the link is restored. I own it but haven’t used it much. Usually I just turn it off completely when finished.
The television is a specific brand and model. You are considering enabling the 'quickstart' feature.
Missed the alert… the TV model is Xiaomi 55” MiTV-MSSP3. Didn’t locate a QuickStart option. Discovered a sleep function to put the device to sleep after a certain period, I’ll attempt it but honestly I’m not fond of this approach. The required duration is at least five minutes, so if I need to rest, I’ll have to wait until it does. Not very convenient. My main concern is simply not understanding the problem. I don’t mind the ten seconds of delay each time; what matters is that every power-on triggers a reminder about an issue I’m certain can be resolved after a week or so and then things returned to normal.
