Hello! I've just upgraded my PC from a 1300X to a 5600X and encountered some issues. Connecting it to the TV in the living room doesn't produce any display output. Switching another monitor works fine, but when only the TV is connected, nothing appears. If I connect the display cable to the monitor, the TV still functions properly. Restarting the PC with just the TV connected doesn't show anything either. Whenever I try to boot from the PC alone, the picture fails to appear. I've tried updating the GPU drivers, adjusting BIOS settings, and manually setting the refresh rate via the NVDIDA control panel. Also, when I changed the CPU, I also swapped the motherboard and RAM, as it's being used in a server setup. Could anyone assist me with this problem?

What television are you using? I faced a similar problem while setting up a friend's PC with an LG C4 OLED display. It was identical to what happened. No screen appeared when booting or restarting, but swapping the HDMI cable after power-on helped with another display. As a reminder, there was a solution. I managed to assemble a new PC using parts I found in my attic, and it functioned properly. I also checked several Reddit discussions and saw others reporting the same issue. Other devices like gaming consoles and set-top boxes worked fine, but PCs—especially those with AMD GPUs/iGPUs—had this problem.

It is a hitachi 49hl8000 That is very sad to hear cause I was looking forward to this upgrade very much. But if it s a problem with the AMD GPUS, why does it affect the 3060ti?

It seems the same problem I encountered with my friends C4 is likely an EDID issue. It appears your TV and GPU aren't sharing their capabilities properly. You've probably tested various HDMI ports on the TV, and switching to a DP to HDMI cable might help. This isn't a permanent solution but a temporary fix. Another option is the CRU utility, which you could experiment with. The issue may not be about resolution but frequency, so adjusting settings there could resolve it.

I've tested various ports and cables. Always try DP to HDMI! I just switched from a 3060ti to an older 1050ti and it started working fine. I've used this 3060ti with a 4690k and a 1300x before without issues. Now it seems like the 1050ti is causing the problems, but I still can't access BIOS or get into Windows.

It seems like you're pointing out a major problem with this setup. Would you like me to help troubleshoot or suggest a solution?

I've been relying on my C2 since early 2023. It's obvious HDMI isn't given the same priority when connecting to PCs, which makes sense. My main screen is the C2, and I have a secondary 1440p display connected via DisplayPort in portrait mode. Sometimes during boot, my system appears on the C2, other times on the vertical monitor—though that’s tricky since it’s upside down. Once we reach the Windows login, it always shows up on the main C2 as I set it in Windows.

Consider using a Linux live USB as a test environment. This approach helps confirm if the issue lies with Windows drivers rather than hardware. I’ve had success with Linux Mint on my 6-year-old Acer laptop, turning it into a smart TV without problems, even though Windows didn’t work. It’s just a creative idea from friends.

I had an additional motherboard that I installed for my 1300X, and after swapping everything onto the original mono, the system booted up immediately with my TV. It could be a problem with the new Gigabyte card or maybe it doesn’t work well with my TV. Either way, the issue is fixed, thanks everyone for your feedback!
