Avoid this approach. Current processors automatically power down unused parts and even idle cores when they're not needed, which limits performance gains. This weakens Intel's "race to idle" tactic and could actually shorten battery life.

I hope you understand, but I actually own a sandy bridge laptop as mentioned earlier. My machine is an i3 2310M. I was just talking about how modern mobile Broadwells are so energy efficient.

Various operating systems use different CPUs and architectures. Your experience will differ, but it's quite simple to obtain reliable RL data instead of just sharing vague opinions. My results improved from 3.5 to 7.5, and today it's over 14. Possibly calibration is involved, though I'm skeptical. Bill might be exaggerating a bit... Small software adjustments made on June 23, 2022 by commander-cb.
