Turn off TPM after activating it
I activated the TPM feature on my CPU (i5-9600k) some time ago to prepare for an upgrade aimed at improving my PC's performance for gaming. Since I didn’t proceed with the update, I’m unsure what impact disabling it might have on my files or operating system. I haven’t applied any encryption to my disks yet, and I’m still trying to get a clear answer. Thank you ahead of time!
Ensure no confidential data is saved on the TPM chip; disabling it won’t harm you if none exists. All stored secrets will disappear, and nothing will be lost if there’s nothing in the TPM initially. However, there’s no strong need to turn it off unless you aim to stop future Windows 11 updates.
